The Atlantic Salmon Ecosystems Forum began in 2002 as the biennial “Maine Atlantic Salmon Technical Advisory Committee Research Forum.” The focus evolved to include the full suite of native diadromous (sea-run) species. Atlantic salmon recovery needs to happen in a multi-species migration as our understanding of ecosystem processes and ecosystem services has progressed. The primary focus remains on Atlantic Salmon recovery, but we are happy to attract diverse audiences interested in engaging in meaningful discussions pertaining to the past, present, and future of diadromous species science, management, conservation, and restoration.
This two-day series of talks and discussions is excellent for learning and networking, enabling us to better understand and implement river restoration solutions.
