The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) I FISH NY program is excited to offer an engaging recreational experience, connecting state residents with their local natural resources through fishing.  This free, all-ages event will take place on May 30th, 2026, from 12-3pm at Park at Beach 108th Street (Rockaway Ferry Terminal) in Queens, New York City, in partnership with National Parks Service, and Jamaica Bay – Rockaway Parks Conservancy as a part of World Fish Migration Day.  Participants will have a chance to catch migratory striped bass, bluefish, and other common fish species found in these waters during the spring.  DEC will provide all the necessary instruction, equipment, and bait for a fishing experience.  There is no preregistration for the event, and it is first come, first served.  Contact fwfish2@dec.ny.gov for additional information.
