Water connects, not separates
North-transdanubian Water Directorate will celebrate World Fish Migration Day 2022 on 20 of May in Ásványráró village next to local fishway. The experts will organize a traditional field visit for about 50 – local and city of Győr – primery school pupiles demonstrate the importance of fish migration routes, facilities and river restoration projects.
The Insula Magna – Complex Water Management and Sustainable Development Program was launched in Hungary in the spring of 2020. The motto for the development of the Hungarian/Slovak twin region is: “Water connects, not separates”. The program were developed by the National Directorate General for Water Management (OVF), the Széchenyi István University (SZE) and North-transdanubian Water Directorate (ÉDUVIZIG) and includes among others re-establish in many places the connection between the main river Danube and the branches. Restoring lateral and longitudinal river connectivity will be a key issue for fish migration too.
