What better way to celebrate the running alewives than with a 5K run? Please join us on Saturday May 23rd 2026 at 9:00AM for a healthy community run that includes cash prizes, professional timing and a gorgeous course along the Great Salt Bay!
Run with the Alewives is right next door to one of the prettiest fish ladders in all New England! Late May is the perfect time of year for the alewives to be seen in their annual migration to Damariscotta Lake to spawn.
All proceeds benefit Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder Restoration a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to maintain, preserve, and improve the Damariscotta Mills historic fish ladder and working waterfront.
