Charles River World Fish Migration
This world Fish Migration Day visit the Charles River at Watertown Dam. We have created an asynchronous nature scavenger hunt for individuals and families to do when on the river at Watertown Dam or other locations throughout the watershed. RSVP here to let us know you are going to visit the river on your own!
We have also created a map of locations to view River Herring on the Charles River. Locations to check out include Watertown Dam, Moody Street Dam, Finlay/Lower Newton Falls Dam, Cordingly Dam, and Metropolitan Circular Dam.
When you are on the river and spot the fish, please share with us on social media. You can tweet at The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and their parent agency the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA):
.@MassDCR @EEASecretary please remove #WatertownDam on the @charlesriver. The fish are here!
You can also take action by sending an email to DCR Commissioner Stephanie Cooper and EEA Secretary Kathleen Theoharides kathleen.theoharides@mass.gov and stephanie.cooper@state.ma.us
When writing your emails consider:
Who you are
This issue (dam removal) matters
Why you care
You can also share your story with us and we will pass it on to DCR and EEA!
