Wow, amazing! Last week we were celebrating the 150th event. In only a week time our team received 50 more events. This asks for another celebration and a moment to tell a message to our participants. We are so proud of all our participants. It warms our hart to meet so many people and organisations who organise all kinds of events and share the same goal, to celebrate rivers and the migratory fish. We are amazed by the creativity of all the registrated events so far, and we still have so much to look forward to!
We want to give special thanks to Karin Hinkenkemper from the Hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland because of the upload of the 200th event for the World Fish Migration Day.
Many different activities will take place at the pumping station on the Halfweg in Amsterdam. From 12.00 till 16.00 o’clock can you go on a guided tour around the water pumping station and learn about the fish passage. There is also a fun video you can watch, through which you can enjoy a virtual swim through the fish passage as fish! Furthermore, you can look at the fish and other underwater creatures in their aquarium and get up close with a life sized replica (1,5 meters!) of a catfish. You can also join their water channel safari, watch another short film about fish migration and take your chances with a special quiz.
