Going into the festive season with 90 WFMD events

We are excited to now have 90 WFMD events registered. Thank you to all those who registered. We have many amazing events planned in all corners of the world from Alaska to Asia. Here are some of our favourites:

Jagannath Univeristy (Dhaka, Bangladesh) is making a great effort to find sponsorship to be able to prepare a great day at the university on 21st of May of 2016. There will be a presentation and speeches of special guests, a documentary show, quiz, art competition, fish exhibition, rally, river cleaning program, event prize and snacks. It will be a truly fun and interesting day to learn and enjoy about Bangladesh migratory fish.

The National Natural History Museum in La Paz is also working hard to find sponsorship for a wonderful idea. They would like to prepare an special exposition of Bolivian Migratory Fish in the museum. In addition to this great initiative, they will give an education presentation to 10 different schools and 3 universities with environment majors. At the end, they aim to get several interviews for the media, to reach as many people as possible.

South Korea

Green Korea United is preparing the "Bio-Blitz" in "Seomjin-River"(one of the five major rivers in Korea) for the citizenship. The "Bio-Blitz" is a wonderful variety of biological activities that are investigated and recorded for 24 hours. Survey topics include fish, plants, insects, birds, landscape, etc. This interesting survey will inform and create awareness on the importance of open rivers and migratory fish.

On behalf of the World Fish Migration Platfrom, wishing you all a wonderful festive season.
