S. Sakowicz Inland Fisheries Institute

The S. Sakowicz Inland Fisheries Institute as a reserch institute provides several programs of migratory fish species (Atlantic salmon, sea trout, eel, vimba, sturgeon) restitution in Poland. All this is strongly linked to the fisheries and environment protection practice. The Institute is involved in aquaculture bioengineering, fisheries management plans preparation and implementation, ecological status or potential assessment, environmental risk assessment, research on riverine habitats distribution under various water management scenarios (including modelling), as well as fishpass efficiency monitoring and dam impact evaluation.
