The venue for hosting our event will be around Barotse Floodplains along the Zambezi river which is the fourth longest river in Africa. Barotse Floodplains is a natural wetland and is fertile for fish breeding especially catfish and livestock grazing with very rich biodiversity. We intend to conduct sensitisation activities on river conservation initiatives and climate change adaptation approaches for the local river communities. Additionally, considering that Barotse Floodplains is historically rich in being the host of catfish we intend to engage the local communities and scientists to realise the importance of these fish species so that it is not allowed to go extinct. Further, the catfish is being forced to migrate to other wetlands leaving the fertile Barotse Floodplains where it can breed massively.
