voyage chez les poissons migrateurs / travel with migratory fish
Two school classes (~ 50 of 8 to 10 years old pupils) from Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle (Pays Basque) will visit INRAE site (ECOBIOP research team) and participate in several science education workshops:
– they will discover the life cycle of the Atlantic salmon and the European eel and the impediments caused by dams by playing with “le fabuleux voyage du saumon” and “l’intrépide anguille” games;
– they will observe some invertebrates and discover their function in ecosystem, including their role as a food source for diadromous fish;
– they will extracted DNA;
– and they will discover the electrofishing devices and radiotracking systems used to monitor the migratory fish population and their movements.
