The construction of dam lakes in landlocked countries: what opportunities and challenges for fish fauna?
The celebration of World Migratory Fish Day by our university will be done through conferences and panels. Its purpose is to present to local stakeholders the opportunities related to the construction of dam lakes in landlocked countries such as Burkina Faso and the need to protect them from silting and pollution. The discussions that will emerge from this day will also make recommendations to policy makers for the consideration of fishways in various dam construction projects.

The Laboratory of Animal Biology and Ecology (LBEA) is a research laboratory of the Joseph KI-ZERBO University (Burkina Faso). The LBEA is an interdisciplinary entity (Animal Biodiversity and Tropical Ecosystems, Parasitology), which promotes both cross-cutting initiatives bringing together researchers from the different disciplines that compose it, and specific activities carried out by each discipline. It strives to develop interdisciplinary relations with other laboratories of the University, as well as relations with national and/ or international research centers.
