Revisiting River Restoration Schlitterer Gießen
Join us to visit the Schlitterer Giessen, where a successful river restoration took place in 2021. The objective was to restore fish passage and improve habitat quality in the river. Three years on, we revisit the site and talk to experts about the measures taken and the lessons learned. Our speakers include representatives from the Tiroler Fischereiverband, the Tyrolean Government, the municipality Schlitters, and the building authority.
Meeting Point is at 10:00 by the Kräutergarten Mariengarten in Schlitters, Tyrol. It is reachable with public transportation (10 minutes walk from the train station Schlitters)
We are going to walk along the river on well-maintained paths (about 1km). Afterwards we round off the day at the nearby lakeside café.
