WWF European Policy Office would like to invite you to a screening of the “What Fish Want”, a documentary by Christoph J. Walder at Cinéma Vendôme in Brussels.
“What Fish Want” takes the viewer below the surface, revealing the silent disappearance of fish from the largest river in the Alps, caused in particular by the construction and operation of hydropower plants. The documentary shows striking consequences of those changes, with already 28 of the 31 native fish species threatened or extinct, and 95% of the meadows of the Tyrolean Inn vanishing.
“What Fish Want” was selected for the Toronto Independent Film Festival.
The documentary screening will be followed by an exchange with the movie director, Christoph J. Walder on how the impact of hydropower on fish could be reduced, including through the revision of the EU Renewable Energy Directive.
