Launch of the new application REKOSLED

On this year’s World Fish Migration Day, May 23, 2026, Fishing Association of Slovenia will join with the Revivo Institute in using a new application RekoSled; a digital application designed to record hydromorphological changes and habitat characteristics in rivers, strengthening data collection and freshwater governance.

The purpose of this campaign is to obtain an actual overview of the state of river obstacles in Slovenia.  There is a justified assumption that there are actually more of these obstacles than official data indicates. The RekoSled application is intended for use on smartphones and works according to the principle of citizen science. After downloading the application, you can simply take a picture of the data about the water obstacle and send it to the experts of the Revivo Institute for review through the application, before the data becomes part of a general and publicly available database.

Fishing Association of Slovenia and Revivo Institute will conduct a data collection prize campaign from 15. 5. to 23.5. 2026 – the individual with the most submitted reports of river obstacles during this period will receive a joint symbolic prize for their efforts.
