We Are River People Nuno Felting
The Nature Conservancy and the Wild & Scenic Westfield River Committee will offer three Nuno Felting Workshops, taught by fiber Artist/designer Marjolaine Arsenault, to celebrate World Fish Migration Day.
The three separate all day workshops, open to community members who live or work in the ten towns we serve, will be held on March 28th, April 25th and May 2nd. One on each of the three branches of the Westfield River to include all of our Hill town small communities. The Westfield River is Massachusetts first designated “Wild & Scenic River ” https://westfieldriverwildscenic.org/.
The Becket Art Center will be showing the shawl’s (river segments) created in the three workshops from May 16th through June 7th They will then be hung along the East Branch Trail with a community creation component open to all on June 20th, sponsored by The Trustees of Reservations.
In addition images of our work will be uploaded in the Art Show being held by world fish migration. Our goal is to have the skills acquired by our community members ripple within our communities for many years.
